Lone Walker

The benumbed fog steals the darkness of the night

The emptiness inside makes my soul fright.

Watching the walls around fall apart in the glimmer

Sitting here i stare the loneliness and the faded light,

Rejoicing the memories of our love and those small fights

Though our parting seems like forever,

Every night i go to sleep with a hope

that morning after i will wake up with some little pain.

and as I keep walking down the cobbled street,

things are no different, but the same.

I know wat i did was always not right,

But I was not wrong either as far as my sight.

But I wish i could have undone things all over again

And put those forces to rein.

And may be now we can again walk along,

The spring be upon us,

with the course filled with petals you loved,

But i believe that was a time too far away gone.

When you turn to me even if everything is gone?

because i know its hard to be alone.

I hear no sound in this dumb surround

Except for my warm breath and sighs.

Walking alone this path under the dark skies

With no one with me but my shadow

Waiting for a pain free sunrise.

How i woke up

Awake i did on a pebbled field
my thoughts went haywire.
Nothing in me left to feel,
the sky shined in a light of darkness,
my memories faded so did all of you.

I cried my tears from dusty eyes
not knowing when this love had died.
I curse you now and bid you adieu,
leave me in this place of hurt and woe.

I have found the everlasting feeling
not lonely anymore not jade
you all can now run to the stars above
this valley of mine will be my early birth.

Go now i to the stars above,
not knowing what this place is of,
not knowing why i need to cry.
to curse you or this soul of mine.

What'(z)ing the Name?

My blog starts with a goddamn review of a goddamn exam which is highly sought after for the so called technical brains in the country. But apart from getting comments on that particular post i was asked why this blog name? I mean why “The Green Mustard”? Why not something else which sounds intellectual or which is quite matured per say.

Well u ask me? I too don’t know where from this name popped up! May be I am a big foodie. May be i am too much into the ‘green theme’ project. May be I love mustard stained white shirt( after all daag acche hai)! Dont know. But somewhere something struck when I was aimlessly generating some stupid blog names to make it look cooler and flashier.

Just then I realized ‘’Dude being weird is the ‘in thing’.”But still why ‘The Green Mustard’? Why not any other food variety (considering the foodie trait in me)? It could have been éclairs, donuts, cupcakes, anything. If Android can come up with such names why not my poor free blog?

Then keeping the ‘food’ thing in mind i came across ‘Mustard sauce’. Out of so many relishing variety of sauce known to mankind, i love mustard sauce the most. Because it fills one with the zing! So now comes the question how MUSTARD can be related to my writing or the future posts that I am going to put? Well my friends it is because the type of post i am going to post will have the Zing-thing in it(Conditions applied though).

Now comes the clubbed word GREEN. Errr...I actually hate the colour yellow. Not that i don’t know the nursery rhyme associated with the word yellow but its just that i hate any colour which is bright and fluorescent. And also using the word ‘green’ to your stuffs makes you look like an extra aware person on the whole environment crisis that’s going on. Also if it attracts few environmentalists (thin chance thou), what’s the harm in it?

So that’s it, this is how The Green Mustard conceived. Hope u will follow this domain for some serious whooping!

Adios!

GATE 2011 REVIEW

Movie (exam): GATE 2011.

Produced by: Indian Institute of Technology.

Directed by: Chairman (GATE 2011), IIT Madras.

Music: Pounding heartbeat.

Cast: ‘Who-knows’ number of Mtech aspirants and beyond.

Finally the much talked about exam got over. A sensational buzz in all the engineering colleges through out the country.

The plot of the story starts with a scary venue with freakishly nerd students with ‘what-if –i-dont-get-into-the-IIT’ look on their face carrying digest question banks probably heavier than their body weight. The students came to take GATE were full on nerds and there were hardly anybody to check out unlike the other B-school xams like CAT,XAT, etc where you cant even.....nevermind.

The opening scene in the examination hall remains silent. Everyone so absorbed into themselves. The bell rings and the drama begins. The faces around, scans for the kick start question. Whereas few students still remain busy checking the sharpness of the pencil lead. However the movie catches its momentum and students around despite of making faces, seen jotting down the formulas’ and quite efficiently used their CAL-Cs.

Though initially the big bold circuit diagrams (as i took the EC paper) with all those notations seemed to be alien and out of the world which on later part turned out to be somewhat understandable and worth giving a shot. IIT M played quite well with the questions and some were beyond the reach of the students (for me at least). Though they end the paper with a happy climax putting few sweet General Aptitudes and vocabulary.

They made sure that the audience (students) get to enjoy the movie(exam) to the fullest as they have timed it to 180 minutes, which towards the end turns quite boring and tiresome with no interval at all. The lines of Hotel California came into my mind which was “You can checkout any time you like,But you can never leave!” until you are done with your 180 minutes.

The movie(exam) is only worthful (as u wont get pirated copy of the whole ‘GATE-feel’ thing) if you have got all the luxuries in your life and don’t know where to put your dad’s money or you dream of running codes or supervising hi-tech machines in some big and hefty company. For me i don’t fit to either of the conditions as I have a long list of luxury items to fulfill and i don’t want to be the next Zukerberg. No. Then why i took GATE? Well i got an adrenaline rush which drove me to register myself for online GATE .May be i was high on Red-Bull.

Jokes apart i would like to compliment IIT M for organizing such a big hyped exam in a nice and decent way and also for putting few questions which were ACTUALLY answerable.

I would rate GATE 2011 3/5 and recommend the aspirants to take this exam next year with a caution that this exam is not for the weak hearted!
